Our Story

Katie and Ami have been the Tag-Team of Tresses in the hair industry for 22 years, working side by side and gaining invaluable experience in every facet of the business. From corporate, commission-based salons to entrepreneurial ventures, we've truly done it all. Katie co-owned a commission salon, created a successful color training program, and mentored countless colorists who have gone on to thrive in their careers. Ami owned her own salon suite, achieved a health coaching certification along with a prestigious National Board Health & Wellness Coaching certification, and gained further experience as an independent stylist renting a chair in a salon. We’ve even shared a salon suite together, always finding new ways to support and inspire each other.

In 2023, we decided to take everything we’ve learned from these diverse business models and open My Girl Collaborative in April 2024! Our vision is to offer the best of both worlds: the independence and freedom of owning your own business, combined with the support, camaraderie, and energy of a collective culture. We couldn’t be more excited to create a space where stylists and clients alike can thrive!
